Recently the local news station heard about my story and seemed it was a good candidate for their "2 Inspire" segment. If you would like to see the end result, here is the link:

awwwwww--I'm so sending this link to everyone I know.
WOW!! I knew about your Ulcerative Colitis, but I had no idea you had gone through all that. I am glad to hear that things are getting somewhat back to normal for you and "The Misses". Soldier I am glad that you had such great support from your wife, family, in-laws and friends. I want you to know that when I met you for the first time you felt like one of my own brothers.
The good and bad of the military is that you gain some of the greatest friends you will ever have and then inevitably you get moved away and have to start over, but no matter how far away those friends are or how often you speak to them you will always remember them and care about them.
Soldier I will keep you in my prayers and I will definitely stop in to see you and The Misses when I come to town.
I have really enjoyed reading and re-living the nightmare you've been through. I can't really think of any thing to add except That I don't think any father has been more proud of a son, and no man could be more proud of the man you've turned out to be. You've even made me re-think my Vietnam years and recall them with pride. I think the army did you wrong, but I am proud of the way you came through it still a patriot and a great soldier.
We, your mother and I,owe your future bride more than we can ever repay, and we will love her as one of our own forever.
Thanks for the pride you've given us since the day you were born until this very moment.
